Why join the choir

Here's what past members have said about their time with NZSSC...

  • "This [international] tour has really inspired me to continue to pursue excellence in not only future music endeavours but also in anything I choose to pursue in life. The music tutors have been a great influence and I can’t thank them enough for all that they’ve taught us as a choir."
  • "It has opened my eyes to another world of music. Competing internationally with a choral group that was of such a high standard has helped me to choose a musical career for my future."
  • “One of the best things about being in a national choir is that when you come to a course, you know that every single person there is just as enthusiastic and just as devoted as you are to making your choir the best it can be”
  • “Being a part of the NZ Secondary Students’ Choir has brought me to a much higher level of singing and musicianship than I ever thought I would reach.”
  • “It’s made me sightread extremely well, I’ve started a degree in voice since joining the choir and it has definitely had an impact on my decision to study voice.”
  • "There’s nothing quite like being able to represent your country at an international level!"
